The Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has joined the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA).

Deputy President William Ruto welcomed Havi to the party at his official Karen Residence on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Havi had declared that he would vie for Westland's parliamentary seat in the 2022 general election.

The LSK president has insisted that he is best suited to vie for Westland's parliamentary seat since he is interested in serving Kenyans and not after the money.

“I am not going to parliament because I am looking for money. I am not going to hide money I have stolen before. I have no flaws. I am capable of serving,” Havi said during an interview.

Havi cited his tenure at LSK stating that he would ensure the right laws are implemented in parliament.

“When I go to Parliament, I will make sure that we have the right laws, that the National Revenue allocation benefits every region, that whatever the national government is doing is constitutional,” he stated.

City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen were among those who congratulated Havi for the move.
