The Milimani Commercial Court has approved Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu Mwenda appeal for a restraining order on Former Governor Mike Sonko.
According to the affidavit, Kananu moved to court on Tuesday, November 23, seeking to have Sonko stopped from further publication of defamatory writings and video/audio recordings on her.
The ousted governor had released a series of video and audio recordings titled 'Rot in Judiciary' with one particularly castigating Kananu for corruption through a confession by Thuka Nkatha.

After reading the Notice of Motion Application, the Chief Magistrate, Justice H.K. Nyaga, in his ruling, certified the matter as urgent with Sonko and Nkatha served with the orders immediately.
"That pending the inter parties hearing and determination of this application, the respondents by themselves are hereby restrained by an order of temporary injunction from further writing, printing, publishing, circulating, disseminating or causing to be written, printed.
"published, circulated, disseminated in any manner whatsoever any, audio and/or video recordings, words and statements that are defamatory and/or disparaging in any manner whatsoever to the Applicant," the statement read in part.
Justice Nyaga then ordered that the application and pleadings of both parties be present for the hearing on December 3.
Coming days after Lawyer Cecil Miller filed the application on Sonko to have him restrained from publishing further defamatory allegations on embattled Justice Said Chitembwe.
Sonko responding to the case, stated to have been informed by his security detail after missing the virtual court session on November 22.
