Preliminary information indicates that the MP differed with Mr Mandegu over a piece of land where Vukutsa Primary School in Ileho, Shinyalu Sub County, sits on.

Kizitio, who is the ODM party chairman in Kakamega County, is accused of invading the said land while in the company of his driver and the seven others.

They are said to have unlawfully destroyed a semi-permanent house and wooden fence valued at Ksh250,000.

A standoff ensued during the arrest as the MP is said to have declined to surrender to police peacefully.

According to Kakamega DCI boss James Lelia, the MP could face an extra charge of assaulting the MP since a number of police officers were injured during the skirmishes that erupted when he was being arrested.

The MP will be arraigned on Friday, December 3.
