Kenya has recorded 1008 new coronavirus cases out of a sample size of 6,038 tested in the last 24 hours. 

This now brings the total number of cases in the country to 59,595 out of 723,210 cumulative tests.

From the cases 972 are Kenyans and 36 are foreigners. 616 are males and 392 are females. The youngest is a two-month-old infant and the oldest is 95 years.

A total of 802 patients have recovered, 679 from the Home-Bases Care Program while 123 were discharged from various hospitals.

The number of recoveries now stands at 39,193.

The country also lost 21 patients, which is the highest number recorded in a single day bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,072.

Currently, there are 1,262 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide. 5189 are on Home Bases Isolation and Care.

62 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 26 of whom are on ventilatory support and 31 on supplemental oxygen.

Another 87 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 74 are in the general wards while 13 are the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
