There was drama in Kisii County on Monday, November 6, after a man donned in a military jacket stormed Suneka Police Station and dragged out a female police officer. 

According to the statement issued by National Police Service on Tuesday, November 7, 2022, the suspect 27-year-old George Onderi was arrested when he became violent and refused calls to identify himself. 

"In the 9 pm incident yesterday, the imposter, 27-year-old George Onderi arrived at the station in his Toyota Belta car, parked and proceeded to the station building where he confronted Constable Mary Maina, the police officer on duty at the report office desk on allegations she wore a pair of uniform with the wrong jungle print.

"The intruder violently pulled the lady officer from her duty post which prompted the immediate intervention by her colleague and the duty officer. The suspected Military Imposter is reported to have declined efforts to identify himself before the Deputy OCS Suneka, IP Cephas Ombija," the statement read in part.

The police stated that the suspect is being held at the station and would be arraigned in court for charges of Impersonation and Creating disturbance.

"He is being held at the station as DCI officers are investigating to establish any connection to acts of criminality in the area. He will be arraigned for charges of Impersonation and Creating disturbance.

"In the past, we have witnessed incidences where criminals have unlawfully used the identity of our traditional security outfits to advance criminal activities," the statement ends.
