Kirinyaga East Sub-County police boss Anthony Wanjuu has confirmed the incident.

Assistant chief of Kiamugumo Sub Location in Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County, has breathed his last after he was stabbed to death by his wife.

Denis Magu, 36, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nuclear Medical clinic where he was rushed for treatment after the incident.

The incident happened on the night of Wednesday, December 15.

Sources say the tragedy was fueled by a domestic dispute.

Witnesses who spoke to Nation, say the dispute degenerated into a fight that resulted in the victim being stabbed on the left side of his chest.

Magu is said to have sent out a distress call after being stabbed prompting relatives to come to his aid. He, unfortunately, succumbed to the injuries upon arrival to the hospital.

The assistant chief is the son of the area Nominated MCA Rose Wanjiru. Wanjiru says she was alerted of the tragedy while heading to bed to sleep after prayers.

“As I was going to bed, my daughter-in-law called and told me to rush to her house and see what had happened to the administrator. I hurriedly went to the scene and, sadly, I found my son lying unconscious on the floor," she told Nation.

She added that the incident was shocking since the two have lived peaceful life without quarrels or fights during their 15 years of marriage.

Kirinyaga East Sub-County police boss Anthony Wanjuu has confirmed the incident and said the brawl could have been over coffee money.
