Kirinyaga Man,45, Hacks Wife and Burns Her Body to Death

Residents of Kithima village in Gichungu Constituency, Kirinyaga County, are reeling in shock following the grisly murder of one of their own.

This is after a woman identified as Charity Wangu,37, was hacked and burnt to death by her husband James Wachira Muchiri,45, after a domestic brawl.

Gichugu Sub County DC boss Millicent Ochuka confirmed the incident and said the suspect has been arrested and is being held at Kianyaga police station awaiting legal procedures.

The deceased body has been to Kerugoya Hospital Morgue.

The incident comes barely a week after a sub-chief was fatally stabbed by her wife in Kiamugumo Sub Location in the same constituency.

The chief was stabbed following wrangles believed to have been caused by coffee payments.

Dan Magu, 36, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
