Four people have lost their lives after a bus, and a lorry collided head-on at Manyani on the Nairobi - Mombasa highway.

Two of those who lost their lives have been identified as the drivers of both the bus and the lorry.

However, reports indicate that several passengers involved in the accident sustaining injuries have been rushed to  Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi.

According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of the lorry made an attempt to overtake a stationary lorry on the road before he came head to head with the truck.

The bodies have since been taken to the mortuary awaiting identification at the same facility those injured are being treated.

Due to extensive damage on the two vehicles, they have been towed to Voi Police Station, awaiting inspection and investigation over the matter.

Coming hours since the Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna urged drivers to be careful during the festival seasons while calling for Kenyans to speak up against rogue drivers.

“Your life is of utmost importance. Please speak up when the vehicles you are traveling in are driven recklessly. Why are we silent when drivers are reckless? Don’t risk your lives over carelessness,” Oguna appealed.
