Kirinyaga Women Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici on Thursday, January 6 sparked mixed reactions after sharing a good will message with ODM leader Raila Odinga. 

Through his Facebook page, the county MP shared a photo of the ODM leader accompanying it with her message where she wished Raila a happy birthday. 

"Happy 77th Birthday Jakom," Ngirici wrote. 

The post sparked reactions from social media users have in mind that this comes following her better fall out with Deputy President William Ruto.  

A section of social media users noticed that Ngirici wished Raila a happy birthday one day shy from his actual birthday, urging her to declare her motive behind the social media post.

"Si birthday ni kesho? But the hurried wish makes it a big political statement especially after umetoka Sugoi. The message is home," journalist Jackson Otukho wrote. 

"His birthday is not today it's tommorow mum date 7 just move to Azimio in peace we wish you the best. You are still testing waters be bold and make a decision... Anyway happy birthday to him the fifth opposition boss," Rodgers Kiptum reacted to the post. 

One Charles Mwas hilariously reacted likening Ngirici to a jittered lady. 

"A jittered girl who keeps posting her new catch to make her ex jealous. Happy birthday Babu," he wrote.  

On his part, Dr Habil Chelule sarcastically responded stating; 

"In Germany, where Baba and I went to college, it's considered bad luck to wish anybody anything (merry Christmas, happy new year, happy birthday) in advance! Nonetheless, you're welcome to the government. We value your conversion!"

Ngirici defected from DP Ruto's-linked United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party following Kirinyaga governor Ann Waigiru's entry. 

Both Ngirici and Waiguri have declared interest in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat in the fast-approaching August 9 General Elections. 

Ngirici left DP Ruto camp claiming that UDA officials attempted to coerce her to back down on her gubernatorial seat and vie for a parliamentary seat.

"When I appeared at the headquarters, the officials tried to convince me to give up my gubernatorial ambitions and vie for the Mwea parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket

"I refused, as they were going to kill my dream. If UDA officials are telling me to vie for a junior seat, do you expect nominations to be free and fair?" Ngirici said.
