  • Teachers gang up against CS George Magoha after insulting older union worker

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has ordered Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha to issue a public apology for hurling insults to one of their members.

During a presser on Tuesday KUPPET chair Omboko Milemba labelled CS Magoha "a colonialist" for ordering teachers to pick garbage in front of students.

Milemba wants the CS to issue a public apology for ordering teachers to pick litter and insulting an education director by referring to him as a fool.

Yesterday, Kuppet Uasin Gishu Secretary General Elijah Maiyo has challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire the Education CS.

Maiyo was speaking in reference to the viral video in which Magoha was seen insulting the County Director of Education Gitonga Mbaka.

Calls to have Magoha fired

“It is embarrassing for the CS to ask teachers to collect rubbish. The mess was there because there is ongoing construction at the school.

“We are asking the CS to issue an apology immediately, failure to which we are going to seek legal redress because it is unbecoming for a man of his stature to refer to an Education Director as a fool,” Maiyo said.

According to Maiyo, CS Magoha insulted the County director in front of students, parents, teachers and visitors adding that the CS's actions should not be tolerated.

Magoha had faulted the official for the poor state of the school during his tour of the region.
