A woman who was killed, stashed in a polythene bag and put in a suitcase before being dumped near a GSU camp, in Ruiru, Kiambu county died by strangulation, an autopsy report has revealed.

Autopsy indicates that the Ruiru woman Esther Wambui was also hit on the head with a blunt object.

This comes even as detectives are investigating the matter in a bid to establish those behind her death.

The woman's husband is being investigated by detectives after it emerged that their last moments appear questionable.

According to detectives probing the case, the husband is said to have failed to pick the wife on the day she went missing as it was the norm.

He did not also try to call her phone to confirm where she was after she failed to reach home on the fateful day.

The investigating officers also raised concerns over his inability to conform with the lady's workplace whether she had left for home.

The husband also did not call the girls relatives to inquire about her whereabouts when she appeared to have gone missing.

According to detectives, the development raises eyebrows on why the deceased husband could not try tracing her after it was clear that she missing.

The woman's remains were discovered earlier in the week. Parts of her body had deep cuts.
