Starehe MP Charles Njagua, commonly known as Jaguar, has joined the United Democratic Alliance party.
The MP confirmed his joining on Monday morning.
He was welcomed by deputy president William Ruto at his official Karen residence.
The DP welcomed the Starehe MP to his camp even as he seeks to stamp his authority as a front runner in the polls.
Jaguar has been cagey on his political camp in the previous months; appearing not to antagonize the DP's camp and that of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
His move now clearly shows that he has chosen his political path in the 2022 elections.
The former singer was first elected into office in the 2017 polls on a Jubilee party ticket.
He is expected to defend his seat on a UDA ticket.
Other leaders present during his welcoming to the UDA party include MP Oscar Sudi and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
