The body of a 15-year-old girl was found dumped in a church in Migori County.
A village elder said Sheril Dorin had been living with her aunt for three days before she was killed.
Reports by the Standard indicated that the Form One student at Siro Girls Secondary School was half-naked and had a swollen neck.
Her aunt, Betty Odhiambo, said she had left the girl in the house with her two children overnight only to return in the morning and find that she was missing.
Phebby Anyango, the grandmother, said Dorin had left their home in Kanyamkago village in Uriri Sub-county on Saturday.
