Renowned Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards football fan Isaac Juma Onyango is dead.

Juma, who hails from Mumias in Kakamega county, breathed his last after he was attacked by an assailant at his home in Mumias.

Officials say the attack was fueled by a land conflict between the deceased and the attacker.

Western Regional police boss Peris Muthoni told journalist Cyrus Ombati that they are interrogating the suspect for more information.

“We have a suspect over the murder to know more,” she said.

His wife told police, according to Ombati, that the incident happened over a protracted land dispute.

The body was later picked up and taken to the local mortuary as investigations continue.

Kakamega Senator has mourned the deceased as a close friend and someone who supported him politically.

"Saddened to have woken up to the news that soccer has lost one of its most loyal fans, Juma. In his DNA football was the most dominant trait.

"On behalf of my family and the good people of Kakamega county, I express my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. Football has lost. RIP Juma," the Senator said.
