The French government has issued a warning to its citizens who are in Kenya of a looming terror attack targeting places often visited by foreigners in the country.
The European nation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs cautioned its people and expatriates from other foreign nations against frequenting crowded public places which it labelled as hotspots.
These include hotels, restaurants, leisure spots and commercial centres in the city.
France in a statement on Thursday, January 27, 2022, warned its citizens alongside other members of the public to be vigilant as they go about their activities over the coming days, especially the weekend.

The German embassy also cautioned its citizens to be weary and alert when visiting public places over the coming days.
These are in addition to the general rules that the embassy has for its nationals whenever they are out in public.
The United States government on January 5, 2022, issued a travel advisory to its citizens to reconsider any planned trips to Kenya due to Covid-19.
The US further urged its citizens already in Kenya to exercise increased caution due to crime, terrorism, health issues, and kidnapping.
