Kuria said the Bill is a recipe for chaos and called for MPs to reject it and root for live transmission of results.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has warned the Handshake team allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga against supporting a Bill that seeks to scrap live transmission of elections results.

The MP in a statement on Thursday noted that the Bill is a recipe for chaos and called for MPs to reject it and root for live transmission of results.

The Bill fronted by National Assembly majority leader Amos Kimunya seeks to legalise manual transmission of results whereas Kiems kit fails.

Returning officers will also be required to travel to Nairobi where they will submit elections results after polls.

"I was there through Kriegler. I can say without fear of contradiction that the Amendments proposed by uprooter Amos Kimunya are a recipe for chaos. I will oppose," Kuria said.

He also appealed to ODM MP Junet Mohamed to lead his team in rejecting the Bill.

Kuria revealed that he sided with the NASA brigade in supporting electronic transmission of results in the build-up to the 2017 elections.

"I urge Junet Mohammed to lead the Azimio team in opposing just like he did in 2016. Otherwise, you will cry in the toilet thinking you are fixing others. Utanikumbuka," Moses Kuria said.

He added: "I strongly stood for electronic transmission of Presidential results and electronic voter identification that some top honchos in government and Jubilee suspected I had been brainwashed by the NASA side".

The Kimunya bill has caused jitters among political players in the country who fear that the move to have scrapping of the live transmission of results passed seeks to aid stealing of election votes.
