Mwangi said his Ukweli party will continue using yellow colour despite UDA using it too

Controversial activist Boniface Mwangi has lashed out at the UDA party saying it only exists for the purposes of the 2022 elections.

While accusing the outfit led by deputy president William Ruto for stealing its party colours, Mwangi said his Ukweli party will continue using yellow colour despite UDA using it too.

He maintained that the yellow colour is still their colour even as he continued with his onslaught against the Wheelbarrow outfit.

"UDA took @UkweliParty colours and ran with them. That’s a fact! UDA shamelessly borrowed our party colours. Still, Ukweli Party will continue using yellow because UDA is just a wheelbarrow for 2022. Yellow was and still is our colour. There is no honour among thieves @OleItumbi," he said.

When the PDR party rebranded to UDA, it adopted yellow colours that the Ukweli party now claims it grabbed from them.

Mwangi, who vied for Starehe parliamentary seat in 2017, is a member of the party which advocates for truth in governance in the country.

Mwangi was the party's chairperson until he resigned in August 2018.

The party said the renowned activist had requested to stand down from his position in order to spend time with his family.

“We wish to announce that our Party Chairperson, Boniface Mwangi, has requested to stand down from his position as Party Leader, so he can take a break and spend time with his family,” the party said.
