Malala urged the Head of State to retire post August 9 General Elections and pave way for young leaders take over power.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is using ODM leader Raila Odinga to remain power.

Speaking on Monday, February 7, the Senator said Uhuru wants Raila to ascend to power so that he could deputise him and remain in power.

Malala urged the Head of State to retire post August 9 General Elections and pave way for young leaders take over power.

"Mmeona rais Uhuru Kenyatta anaanza kufikiria ati kwamba aeke Raila akue president alafu yeye akuje akue deputy wa Raila tena. Nyinyi mnaeza ruhusu hiyo maneno kweli? Ati Raila president, Uhuru deputy president

"We want to tell Uhuru, umebaki na miezi mbili; pack your belongings and go to Gatundu. Kama lazima mtuletee kiongozi kutoka Mt Kenya tuko na kina Ndindi Nyoro na vijana ambao pia wanaeza kua marais," Malala said amid cheers from the crowd.

ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi also emphasized on the same, arguing that the Azimio La Umoja, as a whole, is a project of the state.

"Azimio La Umoja ni project ya deep state... Uhuru ni patron, alafu ameweka project, Raila, na ameambia Raila nitakutafutia mwingine akue deputy

"Yaani kama hamjui, niliposema jana Uhuru ni patron yeye ndio anataka akue chairman wa kikundi kile kikubwa cha Azimio, Raila apewe kazi yake na wengine wapewe kazi yao vile mambo inaendelea huko DRC. Hiyo ndio project ambayo sisi tunasema wakenya hawataki," Mudavadi said.

This comes days after Mudavadi appointed Malala as the new Kakamega county party chairman following Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala's move to ODM.

In a statement, ANC noted that the Senator will take over the county leadership and he will be in charge of operations and coordination of party activities.

"The outspoken Senator pledged to ensure that the party gains significant visibility and popularity as it strives to sweep all elective seats in Kakamega county and beyond," ANC announced in a statement.

Reacting to the appointment, Malala promised to do what it takes to ensure that the Musalia Mudavadi-led party sweeps all elective seats in the region.

"Kakamega county ANC delegates unanimously endorse me, Senator Cleophas Malalah as the County Chairperson of the Party

"As a leader, I will strive to ensure that ANC sweeps all elective seats in the region," the Senator said.
