Mwangi expressed his wonder on how the trade unionist is so rich that he can finance national politicians comfortably.

Activist Boniface Mwangi now wants COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli to explain how he got his billions.

In a statement on Facebook, Mwangi said the years Atwoli has worked as a trade unionist is not worth billions of shillings he has and the affluent life he lives.

The Activist expressed his wonder on how the trade unionist is so rich that he can finance national politicians comfortably.

"Francis Atwoli is a billionaire who has never worked anywhere else apart from Posta and workers union. How did he become a billionaire, rich enough to finance national politics?" he posed.

At the same time, the Activist lashed out at Atwoli for failing to defend workers' rights.

He questioned whether he has performed his mandate as required of him by the union.

"Atwoli’s job description is to fight for workers rights. Does he do his job? What are his achievements?" he posed.

Atwoli has been a trade unionist for years and he is known for being bold in his addresses.

The COTU boss is swimming in riches with homes in several parts of the country including Kajiado, Kilifi, Nakuru and his rural home in Kakamega.

He has been at the helm of COTU for years so much so that a section of leaders have called for his retirement.

Atwoli recently said he is working on his exit strategy and said he won't be so vocal once the curtains fall for the August 9, elections.
