Charles Keter and John Munyes will be vying for governor seats in Kericho and Turkana respectively.

Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter and his petroleum and mining counterpart John Munyes has resigned.

Keter announced his resignation on Tuesday in a press conference.

The CS is set to vie for the Kericho governor seat.

In the press conference, the CS expressed a message of gratitude to the Head of state for giving him the opportunity to serve Kenyans in his cabinet.

"With a lot of humility, I want to give my appreciation to President Uhuru Kenyatta for the honour he bestowed on me... However, today, I quit the government to focus on my ambitions on Kericho governor seat," he said.

He used the opportunity to enumerate how his experience in government and as a politician gives him the best experience to steer Kericho to the next level in terms of development.

He said by tomorrow all will be set for his journey in politics.

"I am resigning today. By Tomorrow I will have my political attire ready," he said.

His petroleum counterpart Munyes has also quit to focus on his gubernatorial ambitions.
