Chege, on Thursday at a rally in Vihiga, appeared to suggest that the Jubilee government rigged the 2017 polls.

City Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now alleges that the government implored upon media houses not to publish stories regarding Murang'a Woman rep Sabina chege.

Chege, on Thursday at a rally in Vihiga, appeared to suggest that the Jubilee government rigged the 2017 polls.

She went further to state that if they were able to do so in 2017, why not this time round when they are now backing the ODM leader Raila Odinga is being backed for the presidency.

While urging residents to register in large numbers as voters so that they can vote in ODM leader Raila Odinga to be the fifth President, Chege ended up saying: "Kule central nimeskia hapawengine wakisema hapa tuliwaibia, kuna kaukweli kidogo. Lakini mjue kama tulijua kuiba si ata hii tutafanya nini...alafu.. alafu".

Loosely translated as, 'In Central, I have heard here some people saying that we stole from them. There is some truth in that. They should know that if we knew how to steal then, why not in this? Will we not do something... then...then..then".

The remarks however did not make it to the front page of local newspapers as expected by a section of Kenyans.

The move forced Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi to react to the incident saying that a call from the powerful office in the country led to the killing of the story

"Editors were called last night..."don't publish a word on Hon Sabina Chege's earth-shaking statement that the government will rig the elections in August for Hon Raila"...and true to the telephone call...not a word in today's papers!" He said.

The lawyer, however, did not provide evidence to substantiate his claim.
