DP Ruto trashed the remarks by MP Chege saying they never rigged the 2017 polls.

Deputy President William Ruto has rubbished claims by Murang'a Woman Rep Sabina Chege that insinuated that the Jubilee party rigged the 2017 elections.

Speaking in Nakuru County Where he was on his campaign trail, the DP trashed the remarks saying they never rigged the polls.

He said they were elected fair and square.

"Kuna mama moja wa Azimio alisema mimi an Uhuru tuliiba Kura 2017. Nataka Niwaulize nyinyi watu wa Nakuru, kuna kura ya mtu mliiba? Si mlitupigia kura? Hakuna Kura ya mtu tuliiba," he said.

He added that he was in charge of the presidential votes in the 2017 elections and that he is certain that no votes were stolen from anybody.

He said they were elected by Kenyans even as he condemned the Azimo la Umoja movement for scheming the vote-rigging claims to orchestrate violence.

"Watu wa Azimio waache kutisha watu na  maneno ya Kuiba kura. Mimi ndo nilisimamia maneno ya kura ya Rais, hakuna kura ata moja ya mtu Uhuru aliiba. This is a scheme by Azimio to orchestrate violence but, we will not accept that," he added.

This comes a day after Murang'a MP Sabina Chege at a rally in Vihiga made remarks that alluded to claims that they rigged the 2017 polls.

She said if they were able to do that in 2017 then they also are able to do so in 2022 too.
