The Governor said thoughts of him working with Ruto have never crossed his mind.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has said he cannot work with deputy president William Ruto.

In a statement on Friday evening, the Kakamega county chief said he better leave politics and concentrate on other things than work with the DP.

This comes after reports were rife on social media that he was bound to join the DP's camp.

"If Kenya Kwanza Alliance is the only option for me, I will rather resign from politics and go home to be a farmer than join them," he said.

The governor stated that he can not work with Ruto because they don't share common ideals.

He said he is in Azimio stay and very determined to deliver the presidency to the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The Governor said thoughts of him working with Ruto have never crossed his mind.

"I have never even thought of it and I have never imagined that I can join Kenya Kwanza Alliance.," he said.

He also dismissed the move by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang'ula joining Ruto camp saying it is inconsequential.

Oparanya said the two leaders have given him a better time to lead the Luhya nation to the presidency even as he said he will deliver the Luhya votes.
