The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) published new matatu termini amid its decongestion plan.

On Friday, November 13, 2020, NMS statement named various bus termini that will be used the come the end of the year.

The statement read:

"Green Park Bus Terminus. It is among the newly designated termini constructed by Nairobi Metropolitan Services, NMS as part of the Nairobi integrated urban development master plan and Decongestion Strategy under which Public Service vehicles will terminate outside the CBD.

PSVs plying Ngong Road and Lang'ata Road (Kawangware, Kikuyu, Kibera, Lang'ata, Rongai, Kiserian) will terminate at Green Park, known to many as Railways club. The PSVs will drop and pick passengers from this point.

A terminus at the junction of Bunyala and Workshop Road is under construction and will serve PSVs from Mombasa Road ( South B, South C, Industrial Area, Imara Daima, Athi River, Kitengela, Machakos).

Long-distance PSVs from Mt. Kenya region terminating at Tea room, Accra Road will now terminate at the new Desai and Park Road termini where they pick and drop passengers. construction of more termini to see all PSVS terminate outside CBD underway to decongest Nairobi.

This follows the Kenya Railway Corporation's Commuter Rail Service launch. Commuter Rail Service will eventually link to the BRT for efficiency.BRT buses will ferry passengers from railway stations to the city and vice versa and also along the select road corridors.

NAMATA has gazetted 12 mobility corridors, seven of them for core mass rapid transportation linking Limuru, Ngong Town, Kenol, Murang’a, Kiambu, Ruai, JKIA and Konza technocity. The remaining 5 comprise rapid transport corridors along Line 2 which have been contracted.
