Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, a close ally of deputy president William Ruto, has set the stage for debate on social media after saying the Handshake did not affect the running of the government.
Handshake is a term referring to reconciliation between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga after the controversial 2017 General Elections.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday evening, Keter denied reports that the Handshake interfered with the operation of the government.
"The handshake was between the President and Rt. Hon. @RailaOdinga and it never affected how we worked in Cabinet," he said.

The remarks are seemingly contradictory to what DP Ruto has been selling to Kenyans.
Ruto has on numerous occasions claimed that the Jubilee Government was on the right path towards the delivery of its mandate to Kenyans but their plans were interfered with by the Handshake.
He said Raila is the cause of many Jubilee failures being witnessed in the government even as defended his track record.
Keter's remarks have attracted the reaction of leaders affiliated with Raila.
ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna in reaction to the remarks said: "Who is the cow now omwami @WilliamsRuto? We at ODM continue to be vindicated on everything we have said. Beans are being spilt wholesale and you love to see it".
