Former Youth Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo has announced plans to contest for the Embu County senatorial seat in the August 9 General Elections.

Speaking with NTV from her Embu home, the former PS who was allegedly involved in the National Youth Service (NYS) KSH 9 billion scandal noted that it was time to move on.

Omollo stated that although the court case will take a long time to prove his innocence, she cannot wait for her case to be completed.

"And it is now about time that I get out and utilize my knowledge. Nimekati kwa nyumba ya kutosha nikingoja my accusers to prove their case. It has been four years down the line, wakati I was arrested... At that rate, I'm I getting justice?" She posed.

Speaking on February 2, the former PS stated that no aspirant fits her league as she has the knowledge to move the county forward in terms of development, and that should give residents reasons as to why they should elect her.

"We all know what the work of the senator is, it is to protect and bring home funds. In my previous work, I dealt with public service work, a lot of financial management," said Omollo.

The Embu senator's seat has attracted close to ten aspirants from the county including Alexander Mundigi, Bosco Kiura, Pithon Muchoki, former Kamukunji MP Norman Nyaga and Embu Deputy Governor David Kariuki.

Others are University of Embu lecturer Fridah Karani and former Mungania tea factory director Samuel Mwafrika.
