The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced that it will hold its National Delegates Convention (NDC) at the Kasarani indoor arena on March 15.

In its agenda of the day, UDA will review and approve the party's policies, consider and approve other party matters as well as nominate the Presidential candidate ahead of the August 9, general elections.

UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina insisted that the delegates convention will be held in strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocols as issued by the Ministry of Health.

"Pursuant to article 6, 2 (iv) Article 31.1 (i) and Article 31.2 of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Constitution, the UDA National Delegates convention will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at Kasarani Indoor Arena from 10:00 am," read part of the statement.

This comes after the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) announced that all NDCs be held before the window for party primaries opens on March 22.

"Political parties' National Delegates Conference (NDCs) should be held in line with respective party constitutions and view of Gazetted election timelines. The NDCs, however, should be held before the parties' nomination date whose timeline is April 22, 2022," the ORPP stated.

ODM had announced that it will hold its NDC at the Nyayo National Stadium on February 26, however, delegates will also meet on February 25.

The party announced that only 3000 people will attend the NDC.

"Dear members and supporters, the NDC scheduled for Saturday, February 26, is only for the 3,000 delegates comprising of Governors, Deputy Governors, Members of Parliament, top county officials, and Members of County Assembly (MCAs)," read part of the statement from ODM.
