Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his team are said to have tabled a list of demands to the Azimio.

The willingness of the One Kenya Alliance leaders to work with Azimio La Umoja will come at a price.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his team are said to have tabled a list of demands to the Azimio team whose de facto leaders are Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A report by the star has exposed details of information regarding demands presented by the OKA team to the Azimio.

Lugari MP Ayub Savula told the publication that Oka chiefs tabled their demands to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila during a meeting last week.

Savula said Oka demanded, amongst other things, a deputy president slot, the share of cabinet position and other government appointments.

“They wanted the DP slot but that is difficult because it has been given to Mt Kenya but there is an agreement on the sharing of the government and soon Kalonzo will join us and it will be the game-changer,” Savula said on phone.

At the same time, Kalonzo and his OKA leaders are said to be hesitant in accepting to be swallowed by the Azimio La Umoja team.

The group says they will join One Kenya Alliance as equal partners and also want the grand coalition dubbed Azimio- One Kenya Alliance.

Allies of the Kalonzo said folding the One Kenya Alliance risks Wiper leader's political fortunes in the Eastern Region.

“We are going as a coalition because we don’t want to be swallowed. We want to retain our identity. If we go and join blindly then we can lose even our support bases and that is what is important,” Kathiani MP Robert Mbui told the Star.

The emerging information comes even as the  OKA team appears cagey on its move to join the Azimio team.

On Sunday, the team postponed the signing of the One Kenya Alliance coalition to allow for more consultation and accommodation of leaders allied to the Azimo camp.
