Murgor quit the UDA party just weeks before the nominations.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi's main opponent in the August 9 elections Francis Murgor has quit the UDA party.

Murgor quit the UDA party just weeks before the nominations and will now vie on an independent ticket.

He said his quit was after consultations with supporters and family members.

“After consultations and discussions with my supporters I have decided to resign from UDA and will now vie for the Kapseret seat as an independent candidate," Murgor said.

Murgor said he had quit from UDA due to personal reasons and after realizing that the UDA primaries would be riddled with challenges.

The Parliamentary seat aspirant however said he remains loyal to Deputy President William Ruto's bid to clinch the presidency.

Oscar Sudi being a close ally of the DP is somewhat the major reason why Murgor felt that he can be shortchanged in the primaries.
