Kanu secretary general Nick Salat said that Kanu needs to join Azimio with or without Kalonzo.

Kanu secretary general Nick Salat on Wednesday piled pressure on the party chairman Gideon Moi to abandon Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and join Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja.

Speaking during the launch of the party’s manifesto at Kabarnet Gardens in Nairobi, Salat said that Kanu needs to join Azimio with or without Kalonzo.

“Sijui tumpatie nini ndo akubali. Ni nini anataka. Ningependa tu chairman usikae na huyu mtu sana. Kama hasikii wachana na yeye twende. At kama ni kukaa na yeye na kubaby sit yeye mpaka saa ngapi, wachana tu,” Salat stated.

Salat urged the younger Moi to move forward with speed in joining Azimio La Umoja.

“Ni nini unakosa?” Salat asked the Kanu chairman.

Kalonzo is reported to be closer to signing a deal with Raila with the Star reporting on Wednesday that a deal between the two will be signed either on Thursday or Friday.

On Tuesday, the former Prime Minister maintained that he would not force any one to join Azimio even as the outfit prepares to unveil its presidential flag bearer on Saturday.

At the launch of Kanu’s manifesto, Gideon stated that the upcoming polls will be an opportunity to uphold the dignity of Kenyans.

He added that it would also be a chance to draw a line between the fears of Kenyans and the hope of a better future.
