UDA bagged 69 per cent of the support of area residents followed by Jubilee at 11 per cent. ODM enjoys a 6 per cent support base

Research by Tifa has revealed that the United Democratic Alliance Party is the most popular party in the Murang'a party.

According to the research, Deputy President William Ruto's UDA party is six times more popular than the UDA party.

UDA bagged 69 per cent of the support of area residents followed by Jubilee at 11 per cent. ODM enjoys a 6 per cent support base. Usawa and ANC parties have one per cent each.

The survey further showed that Ruto is the most popular presidential candidate in Murang'a at 71 per cent.

ODM leader Raila Odinga enjoys the support of 16 per cent of the residents and county governor Mwangi wa Iria has a 1 per cent support. Undecided account for 12 per cent.

The same poll also showed that Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata is the most popular governor seat aspirant Kang'ata with 44 per cent while his closest competitor Jamleck Kamau has a 23 per cent support base.

Wairagu was Maai has 7 per cent support, former PS Irungu Nyaikera 4 per cent while others shared 3 per cent. The Undecided residents account for 18 per cent.

While the ODM party seems to have taken a beating in Murang'a, the Raila-led party commands a huge a significant following in Busia county.

In Busia, ODM has a 46 per cent support base followed closely by the DAP-K party. The two parties being members of the Azimio means that Raila has an edge over Deputy President William Ruto.

UDA enjoys a paltry 7 per cent support base.
