  • His remarks came after Sirisia MP John Waluke who has been an ardent supporter of the Deputy President ditched UDA for Jubilee on Friday.

Netizens on Sunday reacted to remarks by Azimio la Umoja Spokesperson, Prof Makau Mutua on the recently seen defections from DP William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance for the ruling Jubilee party.

In a tweet, Makau stated that there is a sudden wave of defection from the party that is represented by a pre-industrial tool for slave labor, the wheelbarrow.

“SUDDENLY a tsunami of defections from UDA to Jubilee is crippling @WilliamsRuto in Mt Kenya and Western. I said the wheelbarrow is a pre-industrial tool for slave labor,” he said.

His remarks came after Sirisia MP John Waluke who has been an ardent supporter of the Deputy President ditched UDA for Jubilee on Friday.

Two other MPs from Turkana who have been campaigning with the DP defected from UDA.

Following Mutua’s remarks, Kenyans on Twitter reacted and here is what they had to say;

@Ivycherop1921 don't forget the hotel brigade are here planning on how to share power. Power belongs to sovereign people i.e mkokoteni/wheelbarrow people et al

@BenjaiBlessings Magazeti ya ujinga. People fear nomination! What are you talking about? It will shock you that Jubilee party might fallout from Azimio NONSENSE! Utaambia nini watu!

@justussila6 Yes prof, Wamatangi and Ephraim Maina among others have defected to Baba's Azimio.

@axel_yoh Is it happening in your mind or what? The realities will hit you hard, it's time dynastic regimes fall.

@PLOKiarie Weee wacha.......just name at least 2

@Korir4Korir Surely do you mean when wamatangi,kibiru,njeru ndwiga...etc defect from jubilee to uda is that uda to jubilee!!!

@eng_kimathitim Mention them, post their pictures.

@njoroge_joshua1 Same thing will happen to azimio. There is no way you can accommodate all those guys in one party. Just enda na mwenye ako na high chances of winning

@gecko_0_ Wewe uhuru kenyatta akutambui wewe ni takataka tu kwake

@TenaNaTena There is only one UDA ticket for every available seat. So its expected that some people that have no chance at the UDA ticket will try their luck with Azimia

@muhamadekh Anyone who ditches UDA for any other party is someone with no chance of winning anything unless they are from Luo Nyanza.
