Police have responded to a video that went viral over the weekend where a woman was captured screaming for help inside a speeding car along Thika road.

Police have stated that it was not a kidnapping incident as earlier thought but a disagreement between a boyfriend and the girlfriend.

According to police, after an outing with the city, the lady wanted to alight and go home, whilst the boyfriend insisted on spending the evening together.

"Following inquiries from the public regarding a viral video clip where a woman appears to be abducted in a probox on Thika road, NPS wishes to confirm that the incident is under investigation by Kasarani police. It has since been established that the incident involves a couple (boyfriend and girlfriend) who had a disagreement after a social outing within the city.

"The lady wanted to alight and go home, whilst the boyfriend insisted on spending the evening together. During the scuffle a member of the public took the clip which was circulated online," police said.

Police indicated that the two visited Kasarani police station after reconciliation and they want the matter withdrawn.

"Yesterday after reconciliation, the couple reported to the police purposely to withdraw the matter from police action. Police are still considering pressing charges against the motorist who endangered the lady and other road users," police added.
