Magata Bruce Mackenzie scored 428 marks.

Magata Bruce Mackenzie, the top candidate in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results, wants to join Alliance Boys High School.

Addressing the media on Monday from his home at Ongata Rongai, Bruce said that he did not expect to emerge as Kenya’s top candidate in the examination.

“I’m very happy, I did not expect being Kenya one. I just like to give God all thanks because this would not have happened if it were not for him,” Bruce stated after scoring 428 marks.

He attributed his stellar performance to studying extra hours than his classmates. Bruce added that he used to perform well and it gave him confidence that he would pass in the KCPE.

He said that the performance is a good head-start in his career as he looks forward to joining Alliance Boys High School and later becoming a robotics engineer.

His overjoyed mother termed him a self-driven candidate who gave her an easy time as he prepared for the national test.

“I didn’t expect him to be Kenya one. I expected him to do well, but not this much,” Bruce’s told the press.

Meanwhile, while releasing the results, Education CS Prof. George Magoha said that the 2021 KCPE overall performance was an improvement over that of the 2020 test.
