Kidero has issued a statement after ODM endorsed Woman Representative Gladys Wanga for Homa Bay gubernatorial race.

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has issued a statement after ODM endorsed Woman Representative Gladys Wanga for Homa Bay gubernatorial race.

On Thursday, ODM endorsed Wanga adding that she would be deputized by MP Oyugi Magwanga after wide consultations.

However, Kidero dismissed the endorsement announcing that he would look for an alternative to be on the ballot come August 2022.

"As a son and a registered voter in Homa Bay County I will pursue alternative avenues to offer the voters yet another opportunity to elect a leader of their choice on August 9th 2022.

"We should have been left to proceed to the nominations on April 14th 2022 as was scheduled. Here the voters would have spoken through democratically recognised means - ballot," Kidero stated.

Speaking after the endorsement, Wanga said, "I wish to thank Raila Odinga, the ODM party and the elected leaders drawn from Homabay County for their confidence in my abilities to steer the County of Homabay to greater heights. I promise not to disappoint."
