CS Fred Matiang'i was appearing before the National Assembly Security Committee.

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiangi has promised to provide details of land owned by Deputy President William Ruto in Laikipia.

The CS was put to task on Tuesday with providing details of the land that is guarded by the government.

Appearing before the National Assembly Security Committee, the CS was at pains to explain the details after nominated MP David Ole Sankok accused him of providing accurate information.

The MP was seeking proof of ownership of the land that is owned by the DP.

“Such pronouncement by the CS that the DP owns the land attracts public interest. He should just tell us he lied, he doesn’t have the information and knows not who owns the land," Sankok said.

However, Matiang'i said that he was proving information on land where the government was providing security.

“What I presented is areas where we have made deployment. There was no presentation of what the DP owns. We did not insinuate he owns the land,” Matiang'i stated.

He said that the question on ownership of land could have been directed to the Ministry of Lands.

However, the CS maintained that he will provide parliament with the information on the said land in two weeks time.

"There is correspondence on some of these issues. I don’t want to engage in what would appear like a political issue. I am prepared to bring written information,” Matiang'i stated.
