Over 11,000 candidates scored over 400 marks in the KCPE exams setting the stage for competition for the available few national schools

The release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam results by Education CS George Magoha last week meant that parents had to bounce back in action in seeking the required details as their kids head to secondary schools.

Magoha on Monday revealed that the kids will know which school they will be admitted to by Tuesday, April 12, 2022, next week.

The selection kicked off once the KCPE exam results were results.

This year the council registered 1,225,507 candidates in 28,316 KCPE examination centres as compared to 1,191,752 candidates in 28,467 centres in 2020.

Magata Bruce Mackenzie of Gilgil Hills Academy emerged as the top student in the country with 428 Marks.

Over 11,000 candidates scored over 400 marks in the KCPE exams setting the stage for competition for the available few national schools in the country that is not able to admit all of them.

CS Magoha had assured parents that the selection process will be fair.

He also asked students to be careful in their selection process so that they don't land themselves in a ditch.

The transition from primary to Secondary schools is always marred with controversy characterised by parents and students lamenting over failure to be called to their preferred schools.

Magoha has always maintained that all schools in Kenya are good for their children.
