The DP has been using consensus to reduce competition within UDA across the country.

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday yet again brokered another deal in Murang'a county that saw aspirants endorse one of them in the various elective seats.

In a press statement, the DP made on Wednesday over Nyamira county politics, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko got a huge boost after his fierce competitor for the UDA party ticket quit the race for him.

In the Nyamira Senatorial race, Sitting MP Hellen Makone who had declared interest in the Kisii Senate seat dropped his bid in favour of Mose Nyambega who will vie on a UDA party ticket.

"Leadership often calls for personal sacrifice and working for the best interests of the people. In this spirit, Dr Mary Kerubo Nyasimi has dropped her ambition for the North Mugirango parliamentary seat and will support Hon Joash Nyamoko, the sitting MP. Hellen Makone has also abandoned her Senatorial bid and will now back Mr Mose Nyambega," Ruto said.

The development sets the stage for UDA to start campaigns to popularise the Kenya Kwanza bid in the county even as they are tasked with bringing the seat home to enhance UDA strength in parliament.
