The Party did not reveal the reason for the postponement but said the exercise has been pushed to April 19th.

The United Democratic Alliance Party on Tuesday announced the postponement of the UDA party primaries in Nakuru Town West Constituency.

The Party did not reveal the reason for the postponement but said the exercise has been pushed to April 19th.

The UDA party primaries are slated for April 14.

The move has been opposed by a section of Nakuru residents who have sensed foul play.

Here is the video of the protest courtesy of Citizen TV:

Some have suggested that the party is plotting to issue a direct ticket to a member of the outfit, something they are not in agreement with.

Tens of residents took to the streets to hold demos and protest the postponement.

The protest comes a day before the nominations exercise set for Thursday.

The protest is a dent in the Deputy President William Ruto-led  UDA which has been associating other parties with such standoffs.

The party has also postponed the nominations exercise in the Nandi Hills constituency.

This followed the death of an MP seat Aspirant Wesly Kogo who perished in a road accident in Kangemi, Nairobi.

The Aspirant was heading to Kass Fm studios in Nairobi for an interview when the accident occured.

Thursday's UDA nominations will be the first for the UDA party since its formation.

Nakuru Town West seat is held by Jubilee's Samuel Arama.
