Jasper Muthomi popularly known as MC Jessy has quit the Imenti South MP Race. 

The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 13, by Deputy President William Ruto. 

MC Jessy will now join DP Ruto's presidential campaign team. 

"MC Jessy (Jasper Muthomi) will join the presidential campaign team after postponing his parliamentary bid in favor of Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat," Ruto said.

The announcement by DP Ruto comes hours before the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominations slated for Thursday, April 14, 2021. 

UDA postponed nominations in Nakuru Town West and Nandi Hills constituency and are now slated for April 19, 2022. 

Ruto has in the previous weeks intensified efforts to strike consensus among aspirants seeking various seats on UDA ticket ahead of the party primaries.
