Deputy President William Ruto assured the aspirants of free and fair nominations ahead of the exercise. 

Here are the updates across the country; 

1:10 PM: Deputy President Wiliam Ruto issues an update on the ongoing UDA primaries. Ruto says most of the logistical challenges that were experienced in the morning have been solved. 

1:10 PM: A section of voters miss out in Elgeyo Marakwet after names go missing on the register. 

11:24 AM:  Voting in Biashara ward, Nakuru East constituency has been disrupted after the 3 out of the 4 aspirants disputed the choice of polling clerks. They want the polling clerks swapped to maintain the integrity of the nominations.

11:21 AM: UDA nomination exercise in Turkana Central and Turkana East postponed until next week.

11:21 AM: UDA nominations in Starehe constituency, Nairobi yet to start after supporters of area MP Jaguar destroyed materials in Muthurua claiming vote rigging plot. 

10:53 AM: UDA primaries halted in Kuresoi South after eight ballot boxes are reported missing and the process halted in Baringo Central. 

10:48 AM: UDA party primaries in Turkana postponed to April 19 due to insufficient poll materials.

10:33 AM: Kandara MP Alice Wahome to get a direct UDA ticket. Her seat didn't attract competitors. 

10:30 AM: The voting exercise is yet to kick off in London ward Nakuru County. Locals in Nakuru have been queueing since 8:00 am and are waiting for communication from officials from UDA party. 

10:19 AM: The voting exercise was yet to begin in Ruiru, Kiambu county over delayed delivery of ballot boxes. 

10:19 AM: Slow start to the UDA Nominations in parts of Murang'a County with officials blaming overnight rain. 

10:15 AM: Destroyed UDA ballot papers outside Bomet Boys High School in Bomet Central Constituency. 

The incumbent senator Christopher Lagat, aspiring Senator Wilson Sossion, and Former Petroleum CAS John Mosonik are among those who are demanding for the postponement of the exercise. 

10:00 AM: The UDA nominations in Uasin Gishu County kicked off smoothly.
