Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has lost UDA party nominations.

The Woman rep aspirant was seeking the UDA party ticket for the Laikipia East MP seat.

She was defeated by the incumbent Mohammed Amin Deddy who garnered 12,7843 votes. Waruguru came in second with 5,595. Kimaru Mutahi came in second with 2,701 votes.

Waruguru has been vocal in Mt Kenya politics and her list is a blow to his political career.

The Woman MP will now have to explore options going forward.

She can now accept defeat or join the August 9, general elections on an Independent ticket.

The TSP party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri is also eyeing the Laikipia East parliamentary seat.
