The United Democratic Alliance party led by Deputy President William Ruto is proving to be a big party following the large number of people who sought its ticket for various elective seats across the country.

The party said it had over 5000 aspirants eyeing its tickets in Thursday's nominations.

The party carried out nominations in 33 counties.

The party has so far 33 Governor Candidates who will be gunning for the seats in the August 9 polls.

Of all the 47 counties, the UDA party will not field candidates in Kisumu, Migori, Siaya, and Homa Bay.

The areas are perceived to be ODM leader Raila Odinga's stronghold and chances of one winning on a party not allied to the ODM chief are minimal.

Other counties where the UDA party will not field candidates include Vihiga, Busia, and Kakamega.

The area has been left for the ANC party led by Musalia Mudavadi who is a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

UDA party will not also field candidates in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties which it has been left for the Ford Kenya party led by Moses Wetang'ula who is also a Kenya Kwanza member.
