She warned ODM party against shortchanging her in Migori county gubernatorial race

Trouble could be looming in Raila Odinga's ODM party after Migori County Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo slammed the party.

This was after the MP, who is eyeing the ODM Party nomination ticket slammed ODM for handpicking candidates ahead of primaries.

According to Pamela, ODM had allegedly settled on Senator Ochillo Ayacko without first consulting other aspirants who had shown interest in the Migori county's gubernatorial seat.

Odhiambo expressed her displeasure, saying ODM had judged her harshly and that this could threaten to break the party's trust among Migori people and her supporters.

"We have been fighting for peace, fairness, and democracy in ODM. I feel very much aggrieved that my party can call a committee and seat down and I am told it has decided on a gubernatorial candidate when nobody gave me even a minute to be heard. Raila said people should not be taken to detention without trial, why am I being judged so harshly without being heard by ODM?" lamented Odhiambo

The woman MP said she will stop at nothing but the truth in her quest to succeed the incumbent Governor Okoth Obado. According to Odhiambo, the exercise to find a popular candidate was shambolic and did not reflect the will of the Migori people.

She warned ODM saying she will not accept being intimidated and that they will not allow a candidate of questionable character to be given the party's flag and mandate in Migori county.

"If it is not a conspiracy, I want to be told the truth because the purported polling that took place, its results were not revealed to us. Nobody has said when it was done and how. Polling is supposed to be scientific in nature...somebody has been impersonating me and talking on my behalf to the party. If Migorians allow ODM's choice to be their candidate, he will loot this county dry" added Odhiambo

Despite this, Mr. Ayacko has dismissed the claims as “mere propaganda peddled by those who had sensed defeat”

“We know these rumors are created by those who have sensed defeat and are looking for an exit plan from the party by tainting the image of other leaders,” stated Ayacko as quoted by a local publication.
