The 7-member team has already commenced the vetting process of picking Odinga's running mate. 

Suna East Member of Parliament (MP) Junet Mohamed has shed more light on the process of picking a running mate for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga. 

In a tweet on Tuesday, May 4, the legislator said," The guiding principle in identifying a running mate for the Azimio Presidential candidate is: We don’t want to have a deputy president like William Ruto. 

Junet's statement comes days after Odinga's presidential secretariat said the 7-member panel had commenced the vetting process of potential running mates.

In the statement signed by Elizabeth Meyo, the potential running mates were expected to meet the panel starting today 4th may to 10th May 2022. 

"Following the formation of the The Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Coalition Running Mate Selection Panel, we wish to inform Kenyans that the process of vetting and eventual selection of the most qualified candidate has commenced.

"Rt. Hon Raila Odinga is giving this process mandated by the coalition's supreme body the seriousness it deserves. All the eminent Kenyans being considered for this important position of service to Kenyans will be meeting the selection panel on various days between 4th and 10th," part of the statement read.
