Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now wants a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now wants a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to solve the stalemate over who should deputize Odinga on the Azimio ticket.

Speaking on Thursday when he kickstarted a three-day road campaign tour, Kalonzo noted that the meeting would help resolve the matter amicably.

The former vice president made it clear that he would not be attending the interviews for vetting in order to be considered Odinga's running mate.

“Hawa panelists wakiendelea na mambo yao, hakuna kitu inazuia mimi, Uhuru Kenyatta na Raila Odinga tuketi chini tuelewane. Badala ya kufanyia Kalonzo interview, wacha tufanyiane interview tuulizane where are we going, we have a nation to save,” he said.

Kalonzo also told off Deputy President William Ruto for defending him over being interviewed for the position of running mate stating that he didn't need UDA or anyone to do that.

The former prime minister formed a 7-member committee to vet and select his deputy ahead of the August election.

The panel stated that they will have finished the job by May 10, 2022.

Among those who have been endorsed by different parties in Azimio for the deputy position include; Martha Karua, Sabina Chege, Peter Kenneth, Kalonzo, and Hassan Joho.
