The senator's tweet did not go down well with a section of netizens.

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has come under fire after he said that he would submit his application to be Raila Odinga’s running mate.

In a tweet on Tuesday, May 10, the lawmaker said that after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka completed his interview, he would submit his application.

“After @skmusyoka completes his interview I will put in my application … why not??” the senator tweeted.

However, the tweet did not go down well with a section of netizens who quickly reacted to the remarks by the vocal lawmaker.

According to a section of netizens, Senator Ledama was late in the application and he should respect Kalonzo because he was once a vice president.

A section of netizens questioned the number of votes the senator would bring to the table, as others said his leadership style was in question.

Below are a few reactions as captured by Nairobileo.co.ke.

Meanwhile, Kalonzo on Tuesday appeared before the Azimio panel choosing Raila's running mate for a two-hour session.

The Wiper boss said the decision to avail himself was informed by the fact that he did not want to give anyone an excuse to exclude him from being nominated to be Raila Odinga’s running mate.

"The decision to come was my decision because I realized we didn't want to give anybody an excuse whatsoever to say I did not attend," he stated.
