Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced his running mate in the August 9 polls.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced Andrew Lateipa Sunkuli as his running mate in the August 9 polls.

At a press briefing on Monday at the SKM Command Center in Karen, Kalonzo said that he will run for the presidency under a Wiper ticket.

The former vice president said that the decision was informed after the Azimio coalition party leader picked the Narc Kenya Party leader as his deputy.

"If there is no faith, you can't do business. For how long will we sacrifice and even if we sacrifice, they mess up," Kalonzo stated.

"We have agreed to go our separate ways, I wish Raila Odinga's running mate Martha Karua well," he added.

Upon naming his running mate, the Wiper boss said that his party will revisit the matter of the Political Parties Amendment Act.

"The options are obvious, we need to revisit the matter of the political parties amendment act. OKA continues as originally established, Azimio will also go as originally formed," Kalonzo said.

The former vice president mentioned that he was in negotiations with Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta but the former Prime Minister decided to pick Karua as his deputy.

He is now set to battle it out with Raila and Deputy President William Ruto for the top seat, among other candidates.
