Police have launched investigations after a man was shot and killed in broad daylight at Mirema, Nairobi County.
The man has since been identified by police as Samuel Mugota aged 40 years and a father of three children.
According to the police, the unknown assailants never stole anything from the man.
The deceased was also found with seven identity cards, money (different currencies), and several mobile phones.
In the CCTV footage seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the deceased was cornered and shot several times at close range by an unknown assailant.
The man, who was donning a cap, walked towards the car and shot him indiscriminately before he dashed into a waiting car that sped off.
According to the CCTV footage, the assailants might have trailed the deceased and cornered him after dropping a female passenger who has since been questioned by the police.
Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo confirmed the shooting incident stating that nothing was stolen from the victim.
"It's hard to comprehend how hurtless human beings can become. Whether it's vengeance or for any other reason is impossible to comprehend because nothing was stolen from the victim.
"Police moved in very fast. We tried to make a chase but unfortunately due to the high population and traffic we are still to catch up with the assailant.
