Two people died on Wednesday, May 18 after a partially demolished building collapsed in Kihunguro area Ruiru, Kiambu County.

By the time of going to the press, several people were trapped in the rubble.

Kiambu County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha confirmed the incident and the death of two people.

Kenha previously issued a notice of demolition of buildings along some parts of the Thika Superhighway to pave way for the construction of a dual-carrier road.

In October 2021, a nine-storey building that was under construction in the same region collapsed, but there were no causalities as there was no one inside at the time of the incident.
